It may have started out as a local backyard enterprise 20years ago making MDF shelving and Storage units under the simple name of Mr Shelf but today that name is associated with various company operations that have expanded into more diverse growth fields including Custom cabinetry, Specialized Garage Storage, Bookcases, Wardrobes and Quality Kitchens, Commercial racking and shelving serving different markets. The expansive factory , showroom and retail base of this MT Maunganui Company now supports the design ,build and finish activities under brand names Mr Shelf, Kitchens and Cupboards and BOP Industrial and Commercial racking.

The diversity of operations in recent years, stems from the creative business interests the new owners –Husband and Wife team Russell and Deborah Reardon. The couple who come from a Sales and Manufacturing background recognized the growth opportunities for a company like Mr Shelf who already had the Qualified staff and systems to diversify into a wider market range of products covering Residential Customer needs i.e. Garage storage, Wardrobes, laundreys and Kitchens and also the Commercial Customers requirements for more specialized Quality Cabinets and Commercial Racking to suit the individual requirements of that business. In recent years we have built custom units for Backpacker accommodation, Retail outlets and local Bars and restaurants. Whether customers require a quick simple solution or a more specialized design service we can handle it.

The company has recently rebranded the Kitchen Manufacturing side of the business “Kitchens and Cupboards" this was because many people were unaware that we have been manufacturing quality Kitchen units and Bench tops for 10years. “Kitchens and Cupboards"? and Mr Shelf work well side by side as while we manufacture a extensive standard range of Kitchen cabinets, from time to time a more specialized or custom built cabinet is required to complete a Kitchen and this is easily achieved by our Custom build Team ensuring the whole kitchen is ready on time for pickup by our Customers.

Kitchen and Cupboards will supply a Kitchen Ex Factory to builders and Handymen/ women to install themselves or can provide the complete installation service. All Kitchen Cabinets come fully assembled with the appropriate panels and installation kits ready for installation. High Quality New Zealand made Melteca is supplied by Laminex and hardware and hinges include quality German brand Hafele.

Kitchens and Cupboards produce a range of 32 standard Cabinets in a choice of 8 Fashion colours and a selection of Benchtops imported from Europe in 8 different colours. Because we manufacture here onsite we have control of the process right from the beginning of an order until completion ,ensuring the Customers needs are completely satisfied in the time frame we have promised. The Kitchen Team at Kitchens and Cupboards in Tauranga is lead By Chris Eustace who has over 20 years in the Building industry and who’s extensive experience in designing and installing Kitchens provides a wealth of ideas invaluable when designing kitchens for challenging spaces.

Kitchens and Cupboards design service is free, using the quisine 3D design software to design and produce high quality 3D’s, it makes deciding on the type of look you want for your Kitchen easy. Mr Shelf has been steadily evolving and changing with the times , while Old fashioned customer service is still the cornerstone of our Business ,the diversity and quality of our products is growing and expanding.

The showroom at 29 Newton Street is open 6 days and the experienced staff are available in the showroom at all times to help you select a Kitchen or design a wardrobe or provide advice and guildance to help you design the unit or commercial racking that is going to suit your needs. We provide a complete installation service for all our products or the home handy person can select off the rack and install themselves. Our staff are always available for after sales advice and service if you should need it.

The company has showrooms at 29 Newton Street Mt Maunganui and Greenwood Street Hamilton. They also wholesale to a number of outlets throughout the North Island with trucks departing 3 times a week from the Mt Maunganui Factory distributing storage and Kitchens to our customers around New Zealand.
